Smart Bridge allows to routinely obtain, accumulate and document data detected by devices installed on infrastructures (instruments with geotechnical-structural sensor parameters and cameras), send them to the platform which automatically arranges their logging, reprocessing, and sorting on specific databases. The system uses current bridges from the road network as the quantifying platforms. Bends (strains) of the structures under the moving traffic are logged and are then, regardless of the lateral position of the vehicle, through data about the speed and axle distances of vehicles, used to determine axle loads and gross weight. The smart platform collects real traffic data and identifies the current conditions of a bridge through its influence line and load distributions, which are important for accurately transforming traffic loads into load effects and axle loads into moments and shear forces.
